I am a straight female wanting to go over to the UK next year with my best friend, a gay male. We have known each other for 4 years, and been involved in a romantic relationship which lasted 6 months and ended over a year ago. We spoke about getting married (I hold a British passport) and are getting information together and ther peoples opinions (hopefully from people who have experienced this kind of thing before). The possibility of a working visa for him does not exist. I can think of no better gift than to give my best friend a new life one where he doesn't have to hide what he is, and one where he can be in an environment where he can fully express his sexuality (where we live is extremely conservative). It will be both of our first marriages, and both our folks approve. Can anyone else give some advice or their experiences? Thanks.
